Morgan Rogers scores on debut as Chelsea beat Real Sociedad 3-1

Chelsea ended its pre-season with a 3-1 win over Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Morgan Rogers scored on his first appearance, and Joao Pedro struck twice.

Rogers opened the scoring in the 11th minute from close range. Real Sociedad levelled just before half-time through Jon Aramburu. Chelsea restored its lead two minutes after the restart when Joao Pedro headed home from Reece James' delivery. The Brazilian added his second in the 77th minute.

The match was Xabi Alonso's first in the Stamford Bridge home dugout since taking charge of Chelsea. New signings Rogers, Maxence Lacroix and Marco Palestra all started. Chelsea next faces Fulham at Craven Cottage in its Premier League opener on August 24.
