Ganesh immersions peaceful across Telangana, 88,000 idols immersed

Telangana's Ganesh idol immersions passed off peacefully across the state on Friday, with Telangana Today reporting that nearly 88,000 idols had been immersed by Friday morning and the process was expected to conclude by Saturday. DGP CV Anand said 1.24 lakh idols were registered on the state portal this year, and the total including private installations could be around 3.5 to 4 lakh. Over 25,000 police personnel were deployed in Hyderabad, with CCTV cameras, drones, and cranes at major immersion points.

In northern Telangana, Telangana Today reported that 2,400 out of 3,100 idols were immersed in Karimnagar on the final day, with 850 personnel deployed. In Nizamabad, 3,600 of 5,300 idols were immersed and nine cases were registered for playing DJs. Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar monitored the process from the Integrated Command and Control Centre, with Siasat reporting that 10,367 of 14,854 registered idols in the Hyderabad commissionerate had been immersed by Friday evening. Statewide, 13 deaths and 26 injuries were reported during the 10-day festival period, including a police constable who died on immersion duty.
