Kerala school owner tells absent students ‘go to Pakistan’

Dr Raju Davis, owner of Dr Raju Davis International School in Mala, Thrissur, has sparked outrage after telling students who missed Independence Day celebrations to 'go to Pakistan'. In a WhatsApp voice note, he said such students did not deserve to live in India. The school had earlier made attendance at the celebrations compulsory.

Parents have questioned why absence from school was equated with a lack of patriotism. The Students Federation of India (SFI) held a protest march seeking action. Fayis AH, president of the Fraternity Movement in Thrissur, has filed a police complaint against Davis, reports Siasat.

Despite criticism, Davis stood by his words. He said he mentioned Pakistan because it is an 'enemy country', not Arab countries or Bangladesh. He added that absent students would be barred from one period but would attend a lesson on Indian independence instead.
