India’s real-time digital transactions top half of world: President Murmu

President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said India accounts for over half of the world's real-time digital transactions and the economy is projected to grow at more than twice the global average. She was addressing the nation on the eve of the 80th Independence Day. Murmu added that over 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty in the past decade through inclusive development initiatives.

On security, Murmu said Operation Sindoor demonstrated the Indian Armed Forces' precision strike capability and warned that terrorists will face consequences wherever they hide. She called the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty with a country that harbours terrorism a decisive step for national interest, particularly for farmers. The government is also taking steps to reform public examinations to curb unfair means and ensure transparency for students.
