President Murmu vows transparent exams, cites Operation Sindoor

President Droupadi Murmu, in her address on the eve of India's 80th Independence Day, said the government is taking comprehensive steps to reform public examinations to completely curb paper leaks and unfair means. She called students 'architects of India's future' and stressed that the exam system must become transparent, secure, and trustworthy. Noting that 65% of India's population is under 35, she said the youth are the nation's most valuable asset.

Murmu also highlighted Operation Sindoor, the counter-terror operation launched a year ago, saying it sent a firm message to terrorists and their backers. She described the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan as a decisive step for the nation, especially farmers. On internal security, she called the eradication of Naxalism a major achievement. She also mentioned the Khelo India programme and the listing of Sarnath as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
