Jharkhand Home Guard Recruitment 2026: 457 posts announced
The Story in Brief
The Jharkhand Home Defence Corps, Latehar has issued a notification for the recruitment of 457 Rural and Urban Home Guard posts under Advertisement No 01/2026. A total of 446 Rural Home Guard and 11 Urban Home Guard positions will be filled, with vacancies for both male and female candidates.
Online applications will be accepted from November 17, 2026, to December 1, 2026. Eligibility requires candidates to be Class 7 pass for Rural posts and Class 10 pass for Urban posts, aged between 19 and 40 years as on January 1, 2026. The application fee is Rs 100.
Candidates can download the official notification from the website recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The notification opens 457 Home Guard positions in Latehar, with rural posts far outnumbering urban ones. The lower educational threshold of Class 7 for rural posts broadens the applicant pool in a district where formal schooling levels are often low. The November 17 to December 1 window is tight, and the Rs 100 fee may deter some applicants. The final selection depends on physical standards and written tests, which are not detailed in the notice. Candidates should monitor the official website for updates on the exam schedule.
