KTR backs Nalsar students’ right to question

BRS working president KT Rama Rao has extended his support to students of Nalsar University of Law, who have been protesting against alleged abuse of authority. Addressing the media in Hyderabad on Saturday, he said that in a democracy, young people who feel their dignity or self-respect has been attacked will naturally raise their voice and resist.

KTR thanked Chief Justice of India Surya Kant for recognising the special relationship between students and the judiciary. He said those in authority must respect the right of young people to question them, and called upon institutions to function impartially without scope for abuse of authority. He added that officials should take precautions to ensure such incidents are not repeated.
