Magudam collects Rs 0.80 crore on day two, up 17.6%

Vishal's directorial debut Magudam collected Rs 0.80 crore gross in India on Saturday, its second day, registering a 17.6 per cent increase from Friday's Rs 0.68 crore. The film's total gross after two days stands at Rs 1.48 crore, according to trade estimates on Sacnilk.

Occupancy improved to 18.8 per cent from 15 per cent on Friday, but the number of shows dropped from 1,748 to 1,315. Karnataka was the strongest market with Rs 0.38 crore on day one, followed by Tamil Nadu with Rs 0.20 crore. The film received mixed to negative reviews and clashed with Suriya's Vishwanath & Sons.

Co-written and directed by Vishal after original director Ravi Arasu exited due to creative differences, Magudam follows a peaceful man forced to embrace his violent legacy to protect his son. The film also stars Dushara Vijayan and Anjali.
