Magudam weekend box office declines, total Rs 2.10 crore gross

Vishal's directorial debut Magudam ended its opening weekend on a muted note, with Sunday collections dropping 18% to Rs 0.64 crore gross from Rs 0.78 crore on Saturday, Cinema Express reports. The film collected a total India gross of Rs 2.10 crore after three days, with net collection at Rs 1.84 crore across 4,142 shows.

The Sunday decline came despite a marginal occupancy increase from 18.8% to 19.3%, but show count fell from 1,315 on day two to 1,079 on day three. Karnataka was the strongest market with Rs 0.88 crore in the first two days, followed by Tamil Nadu at Rs 0.35 crore, Kerala at Rs 0.15 crore, and rest of India at Rs 0.01 crore.

The film opened to Rs 0.68 crore on Friday and saw a 17.6% growth on Saturday to Rs 0.80 crore. However, the Sunday drop suggests limited theatrical response. Magudam was initially helmed by Ravi Arasu, who exited due to creative differences with Vishal, the actor then took over directing. The film received mixed to negative reviews and clashed with Suriya's Vishwanath & Sons.
