Man kills son, stabs wife in Gujarat’s Navsari family dispute

A man in Gujarat's Navsari district allegedly stabbed his son to death and injured his wife and elderly father following a family dispute. The incident occurred in Ambach village under the Chikhli police station area on the night of August 16.

The accused, Nilesh Patel, who runs a chicken centre, frequently quarrelled with his family, according to police. On the night of the incident, he argued with his wife, Parulben, after she refused to come to his shop. When their son Suraj intervened, Nilesh allegedly grabbed him by the throat, pushed him into a room, and stabbed him in the chest. Suraj died at Rumla Government Hospital. Nilesh also stabbed his wife and his elderly father, Chimanbhai, before fleeing.

Villagers rushed the injured to hospital. Police registered a case based on a complaint from the injured wife and apprehended Nilesh within hours. Police Inspector Praveen Patelia of Chikhli Police Station is investigating further.
