Meerut man arrested for assaulting delivery agent over late order

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Meerut on Saturday for allegedly assaulting a delivery agent who arrived five minutes late with an order, Hindustan Times reported. The accused, identified as Yaman, slapped, kicked and dragged the agent, Amit, inside his flat after an argument over the delay, CCTV footage showed.

The incident occurred on Friday evening at Ganga Heights in the Bhawanpur police station area. Amit told police that Yaman threatened to implicate him in a molestation case and took his phone. Fellow delivery agents stopped work in protest and demanded a public apology from Yaman, Hindustan Times reported. Siasat.com said the couple initially fled after the video went viral, but a police officer confirmed a case of assault was registered.

Yaman was produced before a court on Saturday. The delivery agent, Amit, who works part-time while studying, said he was left frightened by the death threats.
