Mysuru team conquers 14,100-ft Hampta Pass trek

A nine-member team from Mysuru, Bengaluru and New Delhi has returned to Mysuru after successfully crossing the 14,100-ft Hampta Pass in the Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas. Deccan Herald reports that the group, led by Mysuru-based adventure enthusiast Deepak Tiger Solanki in association with Zenith Adventures, endured heavy rains, stream crossings and glacial patches over four days and three nights. The team included senior professionals and young students. They began at 9,800 ft near Chheti base camp in Kullu, guided by local girl Deeksitha Thakur, and reached the summit on the third day. The hardest stretch involved barefoot wading through a freezing stream and scrambling over boulders in steady rain.
