Northern Army Commander reviews Kashmir operational readiness

Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma reviewed operational preparedness and security in Kashmir on Saturday, focusing on maintaining high readiness amid Independence Day celebrations. The review followed a high-level meeting chaired by Lt Gen Sharma on Friday with Army, J&K Police, CRPF and other agencies to strengthen joint operations and intelligence sharing.

Accompanied by GOC 15 Corps Lt Gen Balbir Singh, Lt Gen Sharma assessed troops deployed in challenging terrain, emphasising sustained vigilance and rapid response. He interacted with personnel on the 80th Independence Day, commending their dedication and urging them to remain mission-ready. The Army has been maintaining an integrated approach with intelligence-led operations and inter-agency coordination. Security forces have heightened surveillance and patrolling across vulnerable locations.
