NTA sacked only contractual staff, terminated employees allege

Terminated employees of the National Testing Agency (NTA) have approached the Chief Labour Commissioner, alleging that only contractual and outsourced staff were sacked while permanent officials faced no action. The NTA dismissed 47 employees on July 24 as part of a restructuring exercise, but affected workers claim 44 of them were contractual and three were retained at the last moment. They say policemen stopped them at the Delhi headquarters, denied them entry, took their ID cards, and did not let them collect personal belongings. Many have not received termination letters or written reasons.

Times Now Digital reports that the employees question why senior officials allegedly involved in the NEET UG and UGC NET paper leaks have not been investigated. They allege the final question paper was prepared under strict confidentiality but may have been photographed by someone authorised to take it out of the secure room. The employees have urged an independent probe into the entire chain of decision-making.
