One dead, four injured including children in Kentucky park shooting

A shooting at Charles Young Park in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday evening left one person dead and four others injured, including two children aged 4 and 14, local authorities said. Police responded to gunfire shortly before 7 pm and found five victims. One was pronounced dead at a hospital, the others have injuries not considered life-threatening.

Police Chief Lawrence Weathers said there is no active threat to the public but declined to give details on suspects. He urged the community to report anyone who might be inclined to use a weapon. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Lexington Police Department.
