Pakistan retain Wahab Riaz as women’s head coach

Pakistan have retained Wahab Riaz as head coach of the women's national team for the upcoming Asia Cup in the UAE and the Asian Games in Japan. The left-arm pacer, who led the men's side briefly last year, will oversee the squad along with the other retained coaching staff.

The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the decision, which keeps the setup unchanged as the women's team prepares for two major tournaments this year. Riaz took charge of the women's side earlier in 2025.

The Asia Cup is scheduled to begin in April, while the Asian Games will be held in Japan later this year. Pakistan will aim to improve on their silver medal finish in the 2022 Asian Games.
