Retirement gave me freedom, says Heinrich Klaasen

Heinrich Klaasen has said that retiring from international cricket has given him the freedom to reset and recover. The South African wicketkeeper-batter made the admission in a recent interview, explaining that he now has enough time to work on aspects of his game that need improvement before the next tournament.

Klaasen retired from international cricket in early 2025 after a stellar career, which included 54 ODIs and 56 T20Is. He said the break has allowed him to focus on his preparation without the constant demands of the international schedule. The 33-year-old continues to play in franchise leagues around the world.
