Mrunal Thakur’s Pooja Meri Jaan gets A certificate, releases October 2

Mrunal Thakur's film Pooja Meri Jaan has received an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, with a runtime of 1 hour, 57 minutes and 32 seconds. The courtroom drama-thriller, directed by Navjot Gulati, releases on ZEE5 on October 2. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, and also stars Huma Qureshi, Vikram Singh Chauhan, and Vijay Raaz.

The film, wrapped up four years ago, explores themes of rejection, obsession, consent, and perception. The story follows Pooja, whose life takes a dark turn after she rejects a friend's romantic advances, leading to a legal battle and public scrutiny. Huma Qureshi plays a lawyer trying to piece together conflicting accounts. The film was initially planned for a theatrical release before moving to OTT.

Hindustan Times reports that director Navjot Gulati said the long delay damaged his career, with co-producer Amar Kaushik not responding to him since October 2025. Gulati said the main issue was a disagreement over the selling price with Maddock Films. He added he would buy the film back himself if needed. The film is Mrunal Thakur's second adult-rated film after Love Sonia (2018).
