Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa gets U/A certificate, trailer out

Prithviraj Sukumaran's upcoming Malayalam action crime thriller 'Khalifa' has received a U/A certificate from the CBFC, as reported by 123telugu.com. The film, directed by Vysakh, is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on August 20, 2026, during the Onam festive season.

The trailer has been released, establishing Prithviraj's character Mambarakal Aamir Ali in a dangerous criminal environment involving gold smuggling and the COFEPOSA Act, according to Times of India. The film features Mohanlal as Mambarakal Ahamed Ali in the first installment, titled 'Khalifa: The Intro', with a second chapter called 'Khalifa: His Reign' planned.

The cast includes Tovino Thomas, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Krithi Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, and Indrans. Jakes Bejoy has composed the music, and the film is produced by Jinu V. Abraham and Suraj Kumar.
