Rajinikanth celebrates 51 years in cinema on Dharman sets

Rajinikanth completed 51 years in Indian cinema, with his upcoming Dharman team celebrating the milestone on set. Producer Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International released a video showing the superstar cutting a cake with director Ashwath Marimuthu and co-stars Simran and Raashii Khanna. The caption read: “51 Years. One Name. One Superstar.”

The film’s makers also put out an Independence Day poster showing Rajinikanth’s character with an Indian flag in his pocket. Dharman, Rajinikanth’s 173rd film, casts him as a ‘deadly doctor’, described in promotions as a ‘ketta paiyan’, a nod to his 1978 film Mullum Malarum. The film recently entered its second schedule of production, with no release date yet announced. Music is by Anirudh, cinematography by Niketh Bommi, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.

Rajinikanth is also awaiting the release of Jailer 2, directed by Nelson, set for October 15. He will also star in a film co-starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Nelson.
