Ram temple priests get new yellow dress code

Ayodhya's Ram Janmabhoomi temple has introduced a new dress code for its priests, who now must wear yellow upper garments during rituals. The rule took full effect from the second shift on Friday, during the ongoing Jhoolanotsav festival, Aaj Tak reports.

The temple's religious committee set the dress code to align with Ramanandacharya tradition and Vaishnava beliefs. Since Shravan Shukla Tritiya, all priests have been performing daily puja, aarti, and other ceremonies in the yellow attire, bringing uniformity to their appearance.

The move is seen as a step toward greater discipline and tradition in the temple's religious arrangements. Other ritual rules are expected to be implemented in phases.
