Iran president congratulates PM Modi on India’s 80th Independence Day

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on India’s 80th Independence Day, Aaj Tak reports. The message was conveyed through Iran’s embassy in New Delhi. Pezeshkian called the occasion a good opportunity to strengthen the long-standing and broad ties between the two countries.

In his message, Pezeshkian highlighted the deep historical, cultural and civilisational links between India and Iran, saying these connections could serve as a valuable foundation to expand relations based on shared interests. He reiterated that Tehran is fully ready to strengthen its comprehensive relationship with India and take more effective steps to further shared interests in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.

Pezeshkian concluded by wishing India prosperity, progress and well-being, and expressed hope that the old ties between the two countries grow stronger. The message comes as India celebrates 80 years of independence.
