Yash’s Toxic adds Russian singer Diana Ankudinova to theme song
The makers of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups have brought in Russian singer Diana Ankudinova to perform the film's theme song. The track, composed by Ravi Basrur with a 100-piece orchestra, features Ankudinova singing in multiple languages and is tied to the film's father-son emotional thread, according to cinemaexpress.com. Ankudinova won two consecutive seasons of the Russian talent show You Are Super! and is known for her deep, dramatic contralto.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. Set in the criminal underworld of a bygone Goa, Toxic is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026. 123telugu.com reports that online ticket bookings are expected to open on August 21 across multiple languages, though an official confirmation is awaited.
The soundtrack, which includes contributions from composers Vishal Mishra, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami, will have around 10 pieces. The team has intensified promotions, with the film's branding now visible on mall facades, theatre lobbies and metro networks in major cities, 123telugu.com added.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The cinemaexpress.com report leans heavily into the musical novelty, Diana Ankudinova, the 100-piece orchestra, as the headline hook, treating these as the story's primary news value. 123telugu.com, by contrast, ignores the soundtrack entirely and frames the story around business metrics: booking dates and promotional sweep. The tension is between a film's artistic ambition and its commercial machinery. Neither is wrong, but each overstates its angle. The measured reading is that Toxic is a large, expensive release where the music and the marketing are being run in parallel as distinct news cycles, each feeding a different audience expectation.
