Rakshith Dave wins MRF Challenge after Chiranth penalty

Rakshith Dave, 18, inherited victory in the premier Super Sport 301-400cc class of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W after a 30-second penalty was imposed on Chiranth Vishwanath, who had taken the chequered flag first. The first round concluded at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai on Sunday. Sportstar reported that on Saturday, Pune's Sarthak Chavan, 19, had won the opening race with a last-lap move, leading a Petronas TVS Racing 1-2 finish ahead of Chiranth and Rahil Pillarisetty.

In the Super Stock 301-400cc race, 16-year-old Kabilesh Rajini Krishnan, son of 11-time national champion Rajini Krishnan, secured his maiden domestic win, according to The Hindu. Alwin Xavier had won the same category's first race on Saturday after teammate Kabilesh retired. Chennai's Ann Jennifer (Motul Sparks Racing) completed a double in the Super Stock 165cc Intermediate class, winning both races over the weekend. Bengaluru's Poojita Anil Kumar, 18, notched her maiden national-level win in the Women's category of the Petronas TVS Racing One-Make Championship.

The second round of the championship is expected to be announced later.
