Dickwella, Dinusha hit 50s as Sri Lanka fight back against India

Sri Lanka recovered to 215 for 5 at tea on day three of the first Test in Galle, after India had reduced them to 99 for 5 at lunch. Niroshan Dickwella and Sonal Dinusha shared an unbroken 125-run stand for the sixth wicket, each scoring a half-century. Dickwella, returning to the Test side after more than three years, made 72 while Dinusha remained unbeaten on 62, his second half-century in his fourth Test.

Earlier, India were bowled out for 462 after adding just two runs to their overnight score of 460 for 9. Devdutt Padikkal top-scored with 167, while KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel also made half-centuries. Sri Lanka captain Dhananjaya de Silva had backed Dickwella's inclusion in the squad before the match, saying his glovework was the primary reason for his recall.
