Stalin mocks TVK government as ‘reel governance’ in DMK speech

DMK president MK Stalin on Saturday thanked Kolathur voters for his defeat in the 2026 Assembly polls, saying it spared him from witnessing the 'cruelties' of the TVK government in the Assembly. Speaking at the party's Mupperum Vizha, he said the DMK gave 'real governance' while TVK runs 'reel governance'. He accused Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's administration of failing on law and order, citing daylight killings and shootings, and alleged involvement of ruling party members in drugs and sexual violence.

Stalin said the state faces power cuts and that the cancellation of the Parandur airport project has pushed development back 25 years. He claimed promised schemes like the Rs 2,500 women's allowance and motors for 25 lakh farmers remain undelivered. The bypolls in Madurantakam and Dharapuram, he said, were forced because 'democracy has died'. Stalin dismissed questions about his MISA arrest, saying no one is qualified to evaluate his sacrifice, and pointed to the Chittibabu prison diary and the Justice Ismail Commission report as records of his record.
