Security forces recover ammunition from Poonch hideout during J&K search operations

Troops from the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police uncovered a cave hideout at Bhoriwala dhok in Poonch's Surankote area on Wednesday morning, the Times of India reported. The joint team seized two AK rifle magazines along with 117 rounds of ammunition and a further 17 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition from the site. Two cordon and search operations launched a day earlier in Poonch remained active without any sighting or contact, after three suspects were allegedly spotted near Gujjar Naar and four more near Kherowali dhok in Dhara Sangla village. Forces also combed Sunail Panchayat in Jammu's Akhnoor sector following a resident's report of suspicious movement, and searched Kathua's Hiranagar sector after a suspected Pakistani drone allegedly entered Indian airspace on Tuesday and returned across the border when Border Security Force personnel tried to shoot it down, that follow up search turned up nothing. A separate CRPF and police team combed the stretch from Parshuram Temple to Jandi Nallah in Hiranagar as an area domination exercise.
