Two held for robbing, injuring man with blade in NE Delhi

Two persons have been arrested for robbing and injuring a man with a surgical blade in northeast Delhi's Sonia Vihar. The victim, Pramod Yadav (32), works at a jewellery shop in Chandni Chowk. He was attacked while returning home after parking his car on the service road, police said. The suspects allegedly assaulted him with a surgical blade and fled with his gold chain and mobile phone. Yadav was admitted to a private hospital in Shalimar Bagh and underwent surgery.

The accused, identified as Mubbashir (21) and Salman (21), were arrested near Chauhan Patti. Police recovered the stolen mobile phone from them. Salman has a previous case of attempted murder against him, police said.

The suspects disclosed that they had pawned the gold chain, weighing around 24 grams, to a non-banking financial company. Police recovered Rs 1 lakh received against the pawned chain and the chain itself from the company along with loan documents.
