Water leaks in AC local on Virar-Churchgate route

The Vasai Virar Citizens Action Forum on Sunday posted a video of water leaking inside a 7.26 am Virar, Churchgate AC local, causing discomfort to passengers. The forum said it was concerning that passengers pay a steep premium fare for AC local services but basic maintenance and comfort are not ensured.

A commuter reacting to the post said citizens choose AC locals expecting a reliable, superior experience, and such incidents raise questions about upkeep and quality control. If passengers cannot travel safely even in premium coaches, the purpose of higher fares is defeated, the commuter added.

Senior Western Railway officials were unavailable for comment. The forum has urged railway authorities to investigate the cause of the leakage immediately.
