350 private hospitals at PHANACON 2026 discuss Punjab health scheme

Around 350 private hospitals from across Punjab attended PHANACON 2026 in Ludhiana, organised by the Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) Punjab, to discuss challenges and opportunities under the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana. The conference brought together representatives from the state health agency (SHA), insurance companies, third-party administrators (TPAs), and private hospitals for direct talks on claim settlements, documentation, pre-authorisation, and operational issues.

Hospital representatives raised concerns about claim deductions, query backlogs, complex adjudication, and settlement delays. SHA, insurance, and TPA officials assured them these grievances would be examined. PHANA acknowledged government efforts to streamline payments and revise package rates, stressing the need for transparent claim processing and timely disbursements.

The conference also outlined a roadmap for the scheme, including using artificial intelligence to speed up claim processing and reduce administrative bottlenecks. Organisers said regular dialogue between healthcare providers, regulators, and insurers is essential to strengthen healthcare delivery in Punjab.
