The death toll from Assam's floods is reported differently by two outlets. The Hans India, quoting the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), says 80 people have died and 2.12 lakh are affected in eight districts. Both reports agree that Golaghat and Sivasagar are among the worst-hit. Over 460 villages are submerged and more than 10,500 hectares of crops damaged. Authorities have opened 94 relief camps and centres, sheltering over 8,500 people. The Dhansiri and Kushiyara rivers are flowing above danger level. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Mangaldoi, where the Noa River breached an embankment, and promised reinforcement work.
