Education ministry extends Rashtriya Kavya Utsav entry deadline to Aug 15

The Ministry of Education has extended the deadline for the Rashtriya Kavya Utsav 2026 to August 15, allowing more time for students of Classes 9 to 12 to submit poetry recitation entries. Each participant can submit only one entry by uploading a 60-90 second video on Instagram, YouTube or X with the hashtag #RashtriyaKavyaUtsav.

Organised through the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP) platform, the competition aims to promote reading habits, creativity and emotional expression among young learners. Poems must be selected from a list on the portal that includes works by Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, Suryakant Tripathi 'Nirala', Bhawani Prasad Mishra and Goswami Tulsidas.

The ministry said entries with background music, dubbing or edited content will be rejected, and plagiarised submissions will lead to disqualification. Students need parent or guardian consent to participate. The decision of the organising committee is final.
