ಮುಂಬೈ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ 10% ನೀರಿನ ಕಡಿತವನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಲಿದೆ. ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಪೂರೈಸುವ ಏಳು ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 12.87 ಲಕ್ಷ ದಶಲಕ್ಷ ಲೀಟರ್ (88.93%) ನೀರಿದ್ದರೂ ಈ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮೇ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವು 8% ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾದ ನಂತರ ಈ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧ ಹೇರಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವು ಮೇ 2027 ರವರೆಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಬಲ್ಲದು ಎಂದು ಬಿಎಂಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆ.
