Noida families scrape leaky pipe for water amid shortage

About 400 families in Valmiki Basti, Sector 78, Noida, have gone without water for nearly a month, NDTV reports. With no municipal supply reaching them, residents have been forced to collect water from a leak in a Gangajal pipeline running beneath a nearby drain. Children and adults have been seen scraping the pipe for drops.

The residents say they have repeatedly complained to the Noida Authority and the Jal Nigam, but no action has been taken. The area is not covered by tanker supply, leaving the leaking pipeline as the only source. NDTV footage showed children filling small containers from the seepage.
