NTA extends SWAYAM July semester exam registration to November 5
The Story in Brief
The National Testing Agency has extended the registration deadline for the SWAYAM July 2026 Semester Exam to November 5, 2026. Candidates can apply at exams.nta.nic.in/swayam/. The fee payment must also be completed by November 5. The correction window to edit application forms will open on November 6 and close on November 7, 2026.
The exam will be held from December 8 to 12, 2026, in two shifts: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. It will have 100 MCQs and 50 MCQs in computer-based test mode, with no negative marking. The application fee is Rs 750 for general category candidates for one course and Rs 60 for additional courses. For Gen-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD and PwBD categories, the fee is Rs 500 for one course and Rs 400 per extra course.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The five-day December 2026 exam will test students who registered under the extended November 5 deadline. With over 5,000 courses offered on the SWAYAM platform, the two-week correction window and the ability to pay per additional course mean delays in registration hit students who need multiple credits most. The absence of negative marking reduces risk but also means the exam relies entirely on accuracy across 150 MCQs. The next milestone is the correction window on November 6 and 7, after which no changes will be allowed.
