Pyaar Prema Kalyanam trailer out, Netflix premiere on August 21

The trailer of Tamil romantic comedy Pyaar Prema Kalyanam, written, directed and starring Elan, was released on August 16. The film will premiere directly on Netflix on August 21. Onlykollywood.com reports the trailer promises a colourful, lively rom-com with a role-reversal premise. The makers have labelled it a 'mom-com' for its family appeal.

At the trailer launch, filmmaker Vetri Maaran praised the two-minute trailer as a promising rom-com for all age groups, while actor Radikaa Sarathkumar said the story explores how relationships have changed with the current generation. Yogi Babu noted the film balances humour with serious emotions. Cinemaexpress.com adds that Elan, in a separate interview, discussed Rajinikanth's influence on Tamil cinema and said he enjoyed Rajini's recent performance in Coolie. Elan clarified his filmmaking favours story-driven narratives over hero elevation.
