Russian drone kills two on train; Ukraine sends 822 drones into Russia

Ukraine launched hundreds of drones across Russia on Sunday, killing at least six people in one of its largest aerial attacks of the war, the Economic Times reports. Russia's defence ministry said it destroyed 822 drones overnight, with around 600 heading towards Moscow. An 83-year-old man died in the Moscow region, and five people were killed in the Rostov region. A drone also sparked a fire at a Wildberries warehouse in Podolsk.

Days earlier, a Russian drone struck a passenger train in Ukraine's Odesa region, killing the driver and his assistant, the Times of India reported, citing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The train carried 340 people. Zelenskyy said the operator could not have been unaware it was a civilian train. The claims have not been independently verified.

In separate attacks, Russian missile strikes killed three people in Ukraine, including two in Kryvyi Rih and one in Sumy, Zelenskyy said. Ukraine also hit the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat refinery in Russia's Bashkortostan, causing a fire, according to Ukraine's General Staff. The war continues with both sides launching large-scale drone and missile strikes.
