Congress leader sends legal notice to BJP’s Amit Malviya over anthem

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has sent a legal notice to BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya over a video alleging disrespect to the national anthem. The notice, sent on August 15 by lawyers Ambuj Dikshit and Amrish Ranjan Pandey, demands removal of the post and an unconditional apology within 48 hours.

The incident occurred at a Congress convention on August 13 at Delhi's Constitution Club. According to the notice, the anthem played normally but due to a technical glitch it started again after finishing and was immediately stopped. The Congress side says the BJP's official handle misrepresented a simple technical error as intentional disrespect. The notice warns of a defamation suit if demands are not met.
