NTA re-conducts UGC-NET for 3 subjects after errors, releases answer keys for 84

The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday released the provisional answer keys for 84 subjects of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination. The challenge window is open until August 18, 11.59 p.m., with a fee of Rs 200 per question challenged. The agency has also released answer keys for CSIR-NET and ICAR AIEEA (PG) & AICE (PhD) 2026.

Separately, the NTA announced it will re-conduct the UGC-NET for English, Commerce and Sociology after a committee found multiple errors, including misspelt names, repeated questions, and garbled book titles. The Hindu reports that a separate public notice on these three subjects is due later. The English paper will be held on September 9, Commerce on the same day, and Sociology on September 10, with no additional fee for candidates. Hindustan Times notes this is the second major exam cancellation this year after the NEET-UG paper leak.

Candidates have raised concerns over having to travel and prepare again. The agency advises relying only on official channels for updates.
