Rapido permanently bars driver for harassing minor boy in UP

Rapido has permanently barred a driver from its platform after a video showed him sexually harassing a minor boy in Uttar Pradesh. The company said it took the matter seriously and that behaviour compromising a customer's safety is not acceptable.

The boy filmed the incident on August 14 and shared the video on Instagram, where it went viral. He accused the driver of inappropriately touching him. The driver has been removed from Rapido's platform.

The case has drawn anger online, with many questioning safety on ride-hailing apps. Separately, a woman in Delhi reported a similar incident where she had to jump from a moving Rapido bike after the driver took an unfamiliar route.
