ગ્રામીણ વિકાસ મંત્રી એન. આનંદે ચેંગલપટ્ટુ જિલ્લામાં પુથુર તળાવના ઇનલેટ ચેનલને પહોળા કરવાનું કામ શરૂ કર્યું. વિકસિત ભારત ગેરંટી ફોર રોજગાર એન્ડ આજીવિકા મિશન હેઠળ લગભગ 10,185 જળમાર્ગો અને 809 તળાવોનું ખોદકામ રૂ. 500 કરોડના ખર્ચે ઉત્તરપૂર્વ મોન્સૂન પહેલા કરવામાં આવશે. ચેંગલપટ્ટુમાં 52 નવા તળાવો અને 447 જળમાર્ગો બનાવવામાં આવશે.
