কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার শুক্রবার চারটি হাইকোর্টে মোট 31 জন বিচারপতি ও অতিরিক্ত বিচারপতি নিয়োগের বিজ্ঞপ্তি জারি করেছে। মাদ্রাজ হাইকোর্টে 15 জন, কলকাতা হাইকোর্টে 9 জন, কর্ণাটক হাইকোর্টে 6 জন এবং মধ্যপ্রদেশ হাইকোর্টে 1 জন অতিরিক্ত বিচারপতি নিয়োগ করা হয়েছে। এই নিয়োগগুলিকে আইনমন্ত্রী অর্জুন রাম মেহতা অনুমোদন দিয়েছেন।
